Dr. Elista Istre, a native and lifelong resident of Lafayettte, Louisisiana is a historian dedicated to advancing the field of cultural heirtage at home and abroad. Dr. Elista Istre has established, directed, and supported several historic sites and museums, developed and implemented numerous cultural and historical interpretive programs, and published and presented both nationally and internationally.
