September 2018 - Beth Guidry, Republic Services

Join us at our September meeting to hear Beth Guidry's journey to becoming a Major Accounts Executive for Republic Services, a recycling and waste services provider.

After graduating Cum Laude from UL Lafayette, Beth launched her career in the public sector, where she began working in economic development as the Executive Director for the St. Martin Economic Development Authority (SMEDA) in St. Martin Parish. Spanning 16 years, she served as a liaison for the business/private sector, having coordinated investment trips to China, managed commercial and industrial land developments, and created pro-business legislation on a local and state level. In her capacity as Executive Director, she was successful in being nominated The Times of Acadiana's Top 20 Under 40, as well as, an Alumni Graduate of the Council for a Better Louisiana - Leadership Louisiana - a highly respected leadership program that offers its Alumni a better understanding of the challenges facing the state and the solutions that can help in the future. She also participated in and was a founding member of numerous boards and commissions.

In her current tenure with Republic Services, Beth has taken her knowledge and expertise in working with business and industry and now represents the private sector in identifying unique solutions to a company's waste and recycling needs. Her clients include UL Lafayette, Our Lady of Lourdes, Women's and Children's Hospital, L'Auberge Casino, and Lafayette Consolidated Government, to name a few.

Beth is married to Brian Guidry, where they reside here in Lafayette with their two children: Emma Grace and Charlie. In her spare time, Beth is also a small business owner for Mary & Me Designs - a unique, custom-made jewelry company. She also teaches preparation classes for the Sacrament of Baptism at Holy Cross Catholic Church, as well as, religious education classes for 4th graders at St. Mary's Catholic Church. As a parent, her focus remains on raising her family to become productive and thriving members of their community, with a sense of pride for their Cajun heritage and South Louisiana upbringing.
