JoAnn Pugh, a charter member of Connection since 1985, is the featured speaker at the October 2022 Connections’ Luncheon Meeting. So as to “Never Forget,” she will share her personal experience returning home alone from a European business conference on September 11, 2001, a flight that would take 5 days, as the Terrorist Attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon were in progress.
Since retiring from the world of oilfield communications, JoAnn has been active in our community beginning with the 2005 project to “Save The Horse Farm.” She is a past president of the Lafayette Garden Club, Lafayette Parish Master Gardeners, a charter member of Zonta International, a HAM radio operator, and co-founder of the Pugh Family Foundation.
In 2018, in recognition of their tremendous contributions to the various aspects of education through the Pugh Family Foundation, JoAnn and her husband Nick were selected to receive the Leaders In Philanthropy Award for Lafayette Parish by The Community Foundation of Acadiana and Hancock Whitney bank.
JoAnn and Nick have been married for 47 years. They have three children and two grandchildren. After selling their communications company, DATACOMM, in 2000, which they owned for 25 years, Nick and JoAnn have enjoy RV touring to every corner of the United States. They especially love visiting their daughter in Idaho, and their son in New York.
