As first lady of the city of Scott, she works with residents of Scott along with her husband, Mayor Purvis Morrison, addressing their needs and providing resources. She has been a member of the National Association of University Women (NAUW) for many years, holding office of first vice president.
Mary is a student success advisor and instructor at South Louisiana Community College. She is a graduate of Leadership Lafayette Class XXV.
