January 2018 - Julie Emerson, State Representative

Join us at our January meeting to hear Julie Emerson's story of her journey to the State Capitol.

Julie is the State Representative for District 39, which represents St. Landry Parish and parts of Lafayette Parish. She was elected in 2015. Julie currently serves as a member of the Acadiana Delegation, Louisiana Legislative Women’s Caucus, and Louisiana Republication Legislative Delegation. She also serves on numerous committees, including Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural Development; Civil Law and Procedure; Education; Atchafalaya Basin Program Oversight Committee; and House Select Committee on Homeland Security.

Julie graduated from Westminster Christian Academy and received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Master’s of Business Administration degree from the University of South Carolina. After college, she established Lagniappe Communications Group, a public relations firm, where she serves as Chief Strategist.
