Program:  Dealing with the Stress of the Pandemic.

Our speaker is Dr. Janice Weber.  Dr. Weber is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Telemental Health Provider, Certified Family Life Educator, and Certified Family & Consumer Scientist. She holds a doctorate in Family Relations and Certificate in Gerontology. The second edition of her college textbook, Individual and Family Stress and Crises will be published for the fall 2020 semester. She has presented locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. 

Having been a professor of Child and Family Studies for 35 years, Dr. Weber most recently opened her own private practice in telemental health counseling. Dr. Weber works with adults specializing in codependency issues, self-esteem, grief, and trauma. She practices counseling from a cognitive-behavioral perspective incorporating mindfulness techniques and psychoeducation. Dr. Weber is a Blue Cross/Blue Shield provider and continues to service the uninsured or underinsured through Open Path. 

As an avid dancer with a passion for Cajun and Zydeco dancing, Dr. Weber is currently analyzing research for an article based on interviews with Cajun and Zydeco dancers.
