August 2026 - Lenita Turner - Little Scholars Learning Center

With bachelor's degrees in Child and Family Studies and Elementary Education, as well as a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Lenita Turner brings a wealth of experience in education, early childhood development, organizational leadership, and community engagement. Throughout her career, she has served as an elementary school teacher, reading coach, assistant principal, nonprofit founder, early learning center owner, and community leader.

As the Owner of Little Scholars Learning Center, Lenita is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education while supporting teachers, developing strong leaders, and creating nurturing environments where young children can learn and thrive. Her firsthand experience as a childcare owner and director gives her a practical understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing early childhood educators, families, and childcare providers. 

Lenita's commitment to service extends far beyond the classroom. She is the founder of Building Better Girls, an organization created to empower and inspire young women, and has served as Director of the Vermilion Women's Resource Center. She has also contributed her leadership and expertise through service on educational, business, and community boards and advisory committees throughout South Louisiana.
