2024 February - Judith Estorge - Lafayette Chief of Police

Chief Judith Estorge graduated from the University of Arkansas then worked for the North Little Rock PD. It was after she returned home to her roots that her law enforcement career truly began. Employed by the Lafayette PD, Chief Estorge first served as a patrol officer, and was soon promoted throughout numerous divisions including ATAC, Traffic, CID and now Chief!

She is actively involved in her community through law enforcement, and also through numerous organizations. She is an active member of Evangeline Toastmasters, serves as an instructor and mentor with "No Fear, No Future Adult Program," as well as "Safe Haven" child welfare hotline, and the Blue Reading Program for "Big Brothers, Big Sisters."

Born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, Judith's father, Gerald Burgess Estorge, Jr. supported his family as a business man with a true enjoyment of the outdoors and fishing. Judith's mother, Peggy Mestayer Estorge, was a devoted housewife and cook. Ms. Peggy was also a Pink Lady and loved helping her community.

Cheif Judith is a member of Epiphany Church of Opelousas. Her hobbies include reading, dinner and a movie, family, friends, traveling and sports.
