2024 November - Carol Trosclair - The David Trosclair Memorial Scholarship

When most people experience the pain of great loss, isolation from the world is usually what follows. But not so with Carol Trosclair. When her son accidentally passed away, she didn’t let that define her. For the love of David, she used her heartache as an opportunity to impact her community, as the fuel to ignite the creation of the UL David Trosclair Memorial Kinesiology Scholarship. “Vacationing for Scholarships” Fundraiser is a testimony to David’s character, Carol’s determination, and envelops the legacy deserving of its namesake. The David Trosclair UL Kinesiology Scholarship has raised thousands of dollars over the past 14 years, and has helped lighten the financial burden of numerous students.

By profession, Carol is a respected Petroleum Landman (or rather, “Landmam”). Some would say Carol has more energy than the energy industry itself! Her career path into an industry dominated by men continues to flourish with a track record of continual employment despite the ups and downs of past 30 tumultuous years.

Carol serves on the Board of Directors for the Extra Mile, the Oil Center Association Board, the Lafayette Public Library Foundation Board, the Keep Lafayette Beautiful Board, One Acadiana, Connections Professional Women’s Networking Organization, the Lafayette Association of Professional Landmen, the Desk & Derrick Club of Lafayette, Women’s Energy Network, Women of Wisdom (WOW), and Oilfield Christian Fellowship.

Honors include Acadiana Profile Magazine’s Acadiana Steel Magnolia, KLFY TV 10’s Remarkable Woman Award, the Women Who Mean Business Award, the Acadiana Community Hero Award, the Lafayette Public Library Foundation Award, the Connections Career Achievement Award, and most recently The Women of Excellence Award from the Lafayette Commission on the Needs of Women.
