Kris Wartelle, a well known and well respected personality in Lafayette, is currently serving as Public Affairs Manager for the LSU National Center for Biomedical Research and Training (NCBRT) Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education in Baton Rouge where she facilitates media communications, public outreach and mission support for national and international emergency response communities.
NCBRT is a nationally recognized emergency preparedness and response training center that develops and delivers specialized training and education in response to complex threats and high-consequence events compromising human safety and global security.
Kris continues her work around town as a contributing reporter for The Acadiana Advocate’s Society section, covering social and cultural events in the Lafayette area.
She has two grown daughters, Stephanie who is an attorney in New Orleans, and Kelsey who works in tourism as a historical and educational tour guide of Gallier House, Gallier Hall and other iconic New Orleans sites.
